New conditions and tariffs for parking at the University of Gothenburg

12 May, 2020

From 1 June the fee for parking at the University’s parking areas will be increased, and from January this year, there is only one type of parking permit, which is valid on all of the University’s parking areas. The parking fee for cars has remained unchanged since 2014 and has therefore not followed the parking fee trend in Gothenburg. The new parking rules state that the cost of using the University’s parking spaces must correspond to the market price for equivalent parking spaces nearby, to make sure it is not classified as a taxable benefit. The fee at the parking areas at Medicinareberget will therefore be lower than the fees at more central addresses. There is now only one type of permit, and this gives permit holders the right to park at all of the University’s parking areas. From 2021, an administrative fee of 100 SEK will be levied for the permit. Read further in the Staff Portal.

The new name is Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research

7 May, 2020

From July 1, 2020, Sahlgrenska Cancer Center on Medicinareberget will change its name and will then be called Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research, or in Swedish Sahlgrenska Centrum för cancerforskning. The new name has been prepared by the center’s steering committee and decided by the Sahlgrenska Academy’s faculty board. The name change takes place to avoid confusion, since a center with the name Sahlgrenska Cancer Center was formed at Sahlgrenska University Hospital as part of the process for the hospital to become a Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Idea for distance education: GPCC’s educational digital tool on person-centered care

24 April, 2020

The Center for Person-Centered Care at the University of Gothenburg (GPCC) has developed a number of digital tools that provide knowledge about person-centered care. The tools can easily be used in distance education and are available in Swedish and English. They are free and available to everyone. A person-centered learning activity was tested earlier this spring for students at the dietician program by zoom, in a session that took 2 hours and 45 minutes. In this case, several of the educational tools developed by GPCC were used. They played the PCV game before the session and then conducted various interactive activities.
