During the weekend, the IT unit was able to make the e-mail work as it should for half of the university’s staff, but problems still remain. The malfunction is due to a hardware problem. A number of the university’s email servers are damaged and recently it was noticed that there was a built-in error. There is no external influence behind the problems, nor is the planned migration to the cloud. The IT unit recommends that you do not change any cache settings in Outlook while they are working to restore the email to all staff. Information is provided continuously in the Staff Portal: http://driftinfo.gu.se/&lang=EN

New revision to Rules for examinations
On 31 August, a revision of the governing document Rules and regulations for first- and second-cycle examinations at the University of Gothenburg came into force, following a decision by the Vice-Chancellor this summer. When syllabus are revised, departments and faculties should review whether they need to be adapted to the revised rules for examination. An example of a change in the revision is that the examination session is counted as a utilized if a student submits a blank exam or otherwise does not report an assessable result. Information on the web for students may also need to be updated when the revision takes place.
