16 January, 2023

Ewa-Lena Bratt

Akademiliv congratulates Ewa-Lena Bratt on the professorship in nursing. She leads the research group “Health care transition research group“, which studies, develops and evaluates both new and existing care models in order to improve care during transitions between different healthcare providers. The purpose of the research is to map the consequences for the patients regarding, for example, medical outcomes and psychosocial aspects in the event of deficiencies in the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. Initially, the research group’s starting point is the target group of young people with long-term conditions. Ewa-Lena Bratt teaches at all levels at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, and is also employed as a nurse at the children’s heart center at Queen Silvia’s Children’s Hospital.

Back to normal parking rates

13 January, 2023

From January 1st normal rates for parking in the university’s parking areas were reintroduced. The normal rate for parking at the university’s parking spaces is SEK 10 per hour and SEK 60 per full day. At the parking area Medicinareberget, the rate is SEK 7 per hour and SEK 40 per full day. There has also been a change in the Easypark app. You now need to choose “Korttidsparkering” (Short-term parking) to pay per hour and “Långtidsparkering” (Long-term parking) to pay the daily rate. The rate was temporarily lowered during the pandemic, to make it easier for employees who needed to get to work to avoid public transport.

Representatives in the consultative assembly criticize the vice chancellor’s process, but the recruitment continues as planned

10 January, 2023

After a discussion at an extraordinary meeting on January 9, the University Board chooses to continue the recruitment process for a new vice chancellor as planned. The background is criticism of a lack of transparency from representatives in the consultative assembly. 13 teacher representatives of the total of 70 who are part of the consultative assembly have in a letter expressed the opinion that the selection process needs to start over with an open application procedure, and also that the two candidates who remain do not fully meet the requirement profile. The University Board however does not agree with the criticism. Chairman of the board Peter Larsson will report on the work of the recruitment group and the university board at the meeting of the consultative assembly on Wednesday 11 January.
