The budget bill invests extra in clinical training for hospital physicist training

15 November, 2022

The budget bill gives an extra SEK 750,000 to all hospital physicist programs next year, and the following year the government plans to double the investment. The money is to be used for clinical training. At University of Gothenburg, the funds will mean that clinically active hospital physicists, employed within the Region Västra Götaland , can be engaged, as an addition to the funds provided by the region.
“It is gratifying that we have a hospital physicist education that holds a very high standard and graduates hospital physicists who are in demand on the job market. A major challenge is to reach out to prospective students in order to get applicants with good conditions to complete the education”, says Mats Isaksson, professor of radio physics.
