Gunnel Hensing, professor of social medicine at the Institute of Medicine, receives SEK 3,819,000 from AFA insurance to investigate managers’ conditions, both individually and organizationally, to work with measures against the harmful use of alcohol in workplaces. The project runs until December 2025 and is expected to produce results that can be developed into new methods for alcohol prevention, as well as new knowledge about how these methods can be used concretely in workplaces. Managers are important for effective preventive work against the harmful use of alcohol, according to previous research. Despite that, there is currently a lack of research on what conditions managers have to work with alcohol prevention.
