You now have the chance to help shape the faculty’s action plan for 2014, which will determine our path toward achieving the goals of the university’s Vision 2020. Assistant Dean Eric Hanse needs your comments by October 30, since the action plan has to be finalized before being confirmed by the Academy Board.
The action plan is an updated version of the 2013 Action Plan and addresses strategies for research, education, cooperation, and work environment for implementation in the coming year. This year, postgraduate studies have also been given its own section within the action plan.
“We continue to strongly emphasize internationalization; it’s something of a unifying theme running through the action plan. We’re planning initiatives in all areas to increase international exchanges for students, graduate students, postdocs, instructors, researchers, and other employees,” explains Assistant Dean Eric Hanse.
The next step for Vision 2020 involves the institutes preparing their local action plans that detail how they intend to achieve the short- and long-term goals contained in the university’s and faculty’s action plans. Next year, Dean Olle Larkö and Assistant Dean Eric Hanse plan to meet with the heads and vice heads of the institutions to discuss their action plans.
