You now have the chance to help shape the faculty’s action plan for 2014, which will determine our path toward achieving the goals of the university’s Vision 2020. Assistant Dean Eric Hanse needs your comments by October 30, since the action plan has to be finalized before being confirmed by the Academy Board.

Almedalen 2013:GU first with Master’s programme – teaches students reliable knowledge about health care

This autumn the University of Gothenburg will start Sweden’s first Master’s programme in evidence-based practice. Morten Sager–on site in Almedalen–tells about the new programme.“We will teach students techniques for identifying knowledge depending on where they are in health care, education and social services. Sometimes the most important and difficult aspect is to identify what we do not know – and constructively address this knowledge gap.”

Almedalen 2013:On the world map – life science in western Sweden

Region Västra Götaland has all the essential elements to contribute to a Swedish arena for life science research that would also have international appeal. “Västra Götaland is located halfway between Oslo and Copenhagen, a highly interesting area. If we are to put our region on the world map, it would be from a Scandinavian or Nordic perspective rather than a national perspective,” said Olle Larkö, dean of Sahlgrenska Academy.
