On February 5, the award “For Zealous and Devoted Service of the Realm” (NoR) was distributed at the University of Gothenburg. The award is given to those employees who have been employed in government service for 30 years, or 25 years in retirement.
Major European award to Kaj Blennow
Kaj Blennow, professor of neuroscience at the Sahlgrenska Academy, has received a major European award for his research on Alzheimers.
Marie Lagerquist receives the Minor Fernström Prize for 2013
A unanimous prize committee named Marie Lagerquist as the recipient of this year’s Dr. Eric K Fernström Prize in Gothenburg, also known as the Minor Fernström Prize. The day after being surprised by the call from Olle Larkö, a happy Marie Lagerquist tells us: “It feels great to number among those who have received this award. The prize is strong confirmation that you are doing something well.”
USA: New teaching award of Nobel class planned
A new award is now launched to reward educators “whose innovations have led to extraordinary learning experiences.” The award is half a million U.S. dollars, and is called by the settlers themselves for a Nobel Prize in teaching.
