Purpose
The purpose of this initiative is to “lead to the presence in Gothenburg of internationally renowned researchers and thus contribute to scholarly or scientific research or artistic activities within sustainable development.
Nominations
Each Faculty, except for the School of Business, Economics and Law that has the right to select a guest professor every third year, is invited to nominate 1 researcher for this guest professorship. The candidate should be internationally renowned, active at a university outside of Sweden, and work in a field or area with a connection to sustainable development in the sense that the foundation has stipulated. Candidates should be informed, and have expressed their willingness to be active in Gothenburg during a year.
Nominations are to be written in English, and consist of
A motivation no longer than 2 pages that states:
- the value of the stay of the nominated researcher to the nominating department at the University of Gothenburg, both for the nominee and the department/university.
- how the stay is planned to be implemented and when, and
- how the nominees research is connected to the theme of sustainable development that the foundation has stipulated.
The motivation is to be signed by the prefect of the nominating department.
A short CV no longer than 1 page, that states the most important items for this nomination, and shows the connection of the nominees activities to sustainable development.
A selection of the 10 most relevant publications from the last 5 years of the nominee.
A short motivation of the budget no longer than 1 page that outlines the planned use of the 999 000 SEK.
Nominations are to be submitted via e-mail to rangnar.nilsson@gu.se no later than Friday April 16th 2021.
Submitted nominations will be ranked on the scientific/scholarly or artistic merits and the connection to the priority of the foundation of sustainable development, and on the value for the university as described in the nomination.
