Starting now, the information will be distributed every four weeks via construction newletter and in Akademiliv. For the rest of the year, the information will be distributed on Monday September 21, Monday October 19, Monday November 16, and Monday December 14. If you have questions about the construction activities, feel free to email medicinareberget@gu.se.

In regards of the spread of covid-19, there is currently no impact on the progress of the projects, but developments can change quickly. The University of Gothenburg and Akademiska Hus are closely monitoring developments and are making adjustments as needed.

WEEK 37, September 7–11.

WARNING SIGNALS AT BLASTING. Before and during blasting the area will be blocked off by guards and you will hear a warning signal. Information signs with contact information will also be put up in concerned area

The week begins with casting of the base slab for the rooms located in the cellar. The casting team will also work on a culvert.

The blasting team will drill and blast in the south end of the area. The blasting impact decreases from now on, hence affecting the outloading speed. Outloading during the week goes through gate 1, near EBM.

The most visible activity end of the week is the assembly of the crane. The crane is adapted for the casting work and stay until end of year, to be replaced by another, better suited for putting the frame in place

Inside Medicinarelängan on the second floor, smiths and demolition workers are working side by side. Occasionally, there will be disturbing noise coming from the demolition area. The construction team is in close dialogue with those concerned to adapt the activities in order to minimize the disturbances. On the first floor, minor demolition work takes place.

On Medicinaregatan, in the slope, an area is closed for a planned work related to securing water supply and sewage.

Blasting takes place as usual, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.30, with reserve times at 15.00 on the same days.

WEEK 38, September 14–18.

A wire saw removes the rock close to Medicinarelängan. Also starting up, is the blasting for the coming ramp down to the cellar of Natrium located in the south end.

The casting continues, with both base slabs and walls.

On Medicinaregatan, a minor work involving drilling and blasting takes place. Signs are put in place in order to minimize the impact on traffic.

Inside Medicinaregatan, demolition work continues on the first and second floor.

The blasting takes place as usual, On Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30, with reserve times at 15.00 on the same days.

WEEK 39, September 21–25.

The rock material closest to Medicinarelängan, is removed by a wire saw and blasting close to Nya Forsken in parallel with the casting work in the north end of the area.

The blasting takes place as usual, On Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30, with reserve times at 15.00 on the same days.
