FORMAL. The theme for this year’s Conferment of Doctoral Degrees was knowledge and enlightenment, and the ceremony last Friday was, as should be, both stately and festive. Akademiliv presents some pictures from the event, taken by University Photographer Johan Wingborg.
During the university’s major academic celebration on Friday, 111 new doctors of philosophy, medicine and odontology at Sahlgrenska Academy were conferred. During the ceremony our three new honorary doctors were also conferred with hat or laurel-crown. This year’s promoter for Sahlgrenska Academy was Kristina Malmgren. After the ceremony, the guest mingled, and 750 of them then proceeded to the grand banquet with entertainment, festive speeches and dance to the student band Tongångarne.
