VR calls: clinical treatment research, postdoc, conference and consolidation

GRANST. The Swedish Research Council has opened the first calls of the year. You can now apply for research grants for research environment in clinical treatment research, international postdoc, conference and consolidation.

International post doc

  • The grant is sought by individual researchers who have obtained a doctorate no more than two years ago.
  • The contribution is given for up to three years, and is SEK 1,050,000 per year.
  • The purpose of the grant is to provide newly researched researchers with a doctorate from Swedish university the opportunity to expand their network and their skills by working abroad under safe employment.

Research environment in clinical treatment research

  • The contribution is sought by individual researchers.
  • The maximum amount is SEK 20 million. The lowest amount that can be sought is SEK 400,000 per year. The contribution lasts over three years.
  • This contribution is sought in two steps. First, a sketch application – applicants who receive their sketch application may then submit a full application.
  • The purpose of the grant is to provide support for clinical treatment studies that are motivated by the needs of healthcare and are expected to lead to patient and community benefits within a relatively short period of time. Treatment studies refer to both intervention and observation studies. Areas such as prevention, diagnosis, follow-up, implementation, nursing and rehabilitation are also included. The grant will enable a constellation of researchers in county councils / regions and academia to work towards a common research goal. The Swedish Research Council prizes research of the highest scientific quality in national competition.

Conference grant

  • The contribution refers to travel and accommodation costs for invited speakers from other countries than of Sweden. It is being sought by individual researchers, for a conference which will take place between 27 June 2018 and 27 February 2019.
  • The grant amounts are at least SEK 30,000, maximum SEK 200,000.
  • The purpose of the grant is to promote international research collaboration and exchange of experiences. Conference contribution is a way to provide researchers in Sweden with the opportunity to organize a conference with internationally recognized speakers.

Consolidation grant

  • The contribution gives SEK 2 000 000 per year for six years.
  • It is being sought by individual researchers who have been taught between 7 and 12 years ago.
  • The Swedish Research Council expects to grant seven (7) consolidation grants in medicine and health, as well as nine (9) in science / technology.
  • The purpose of the grant is to provide the most prominent younger researchers with the opportunity to consolidate their research and expand their activities as independent researchers. Within the framework of the announcement, the Swedish Research Council wants to support researchers who have a scientifically interesting research idea and who can translate and carry out the research task, thus leading the research front or completing existing knowledge gaps.
