RESEARCH. For the second year in a row, the Sahlgrenska Academy and Sahlgrenska University Hospital will shortly be carrying out a joint research day Last year’s Research Day was fully booked but there are still a few places left for this year’s arrangement. Please note that The Research Day will be held in Swedish
The Research Day will take place on March 2 in the Wallenberg Conference Center. There is no admission charge and you will also be offered lunch If you are unable to attend the entire day, you may choose to attend either in the morning or the afternoon. (You can sign up here: https://app.legaonline.se/form/Wallenberg/1415994)
The program will devote the entire day to clinic-related research The three main seminars will deal with anti-obesity surgery, oral diseases and uterus transplantation (You can see the program here: https://gubox.box.com/s/jojdlxeyuc2rzfai276ffaohxkf5w6y5)
In Gothenburg, good collaboration between the Academy and the University Hospital is a hallmark of clinical research.
“A great number of the Academy’s researchers are active at SU [Sahlgrenska University Hospital]. Without doubt, the University Hospital is our most important collaborative partner,” says Eric Hanse, Vice Dean of the Sahlgrenska Academy and continues:
“When I see the program for the Research Day, I am impressed by its breadth and it is primarily this that I am looking forward becoming acquainted with during the day.”
Ann-Marie Wennberg, Director General of the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, feels that the Research Day will appeal to all employees and points out that familiarizing oneself with current research constitutes an important part of the updating of skills:
“It is important for us to invest in training in all core areas within the hospital, i.e. healthcare, training and research” Then you will feel more secure in your profession and your work environment will be better. In addition, it will be more enjoyable to work if you know more.” she says.
Last year’s Research Day was fully booked. However, towards the end of the day, attendance was much sparser, something those responsible for the program gave learned from:
“We have produced a program that is just as interesting all the way to the end This year we will conclude with a presentation of a uterus transplantation representing cutting edge research from Gothenburg and a project that has attracted enormous attention not only in Sweden, but also internationally,” says Anna Nilsdotter, Head of Research, Development and Training at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, who is personally looking forward listening to the speakers during the day
“I am relatively new in Gothenburg, so for me, the Research Day is a great opportunity to not only establish contacts but also become acquainted with everything going on here in Gothenburg
