MEDICINAREBERGET. A large analysis work has been done since the end of the year of the plans that have been developed in the Vision 2020 – Medicinareberget project. The project now moves on to a new phase and proceeds with the plans that have shown to be the strongest, most sustainable and best established in the organisation.
“The project gives the University of Gothenburg an opportunity to put focus on Life Science and also make new creative environments in the cooperation between medical care, odontology and basic research”, says Staffan Edén, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and project owner.
An architectural competition is initiated to show alternatives for new buildings near and across Per Dubbsgatan for the Sahlgrenska University Hospital and the Sahlgrenska Academy. The area is called Sahlgrenska Life and the result of the competition will be presented April 27.
“A prerequisite for the success of Sahlgrenska Life is that the Västra Götaland Region and the University of Gothenburg regard this effort as a shared project. The environments that are created here shall be integrated and shared”, says Staffan Edén.
In parallel Akademiska Hus continues, in cooperation with the University of Gothenburg and the City of Gothenburg, to investigate how the Medicinareberget area can develop as a whole.
