The Swedish Research Council Open Call is announced

19 February, 2015

VR-stora_utlysningen_600The Swedish Research Council annual call for research support, particularly project grants, in all scientific fields has opened. This year, applications to the Research Council are made in the new application system Prism. The deadlines for the various grants occur during March.

Deadline for application in Clinical Treatment Research is March 19, and in Medicine and Health on 26 March. Applications are made in the new application system Prism. Since all participating researchers must create personal accounts in Prisma, the Swedish Research Council recommends applications in a timely manner.

Here you can read more about the new features of this year’s call:

The bulk of the funds announced goes to projects that scientists themselves initiates, but there are also contributions in various fields, including psychiatry, nursing research, alternative methods to animal experiments and clinical treatment research.

Some news

Applications are made in the new application system Prisma. We recommend that candidates do not wait too long with their applications, since there is quite a lot of information that must be entered. A new feature this year is that you can only apply for one openproject grant, and you can also only have one ongoing open project grant.

New application system – Prisma

This year the call to the Research Council is made in Prisma, which is Formas’, the Swedish Research Council’s, and Fortes’ new application system. In order to apply, your institution must be approved as funds managers and must have created an organizational account in Prisma. As an applicant, you must also create a personal account in Prisma – this also applies to international competition – where your personal information is stored. Remember to create your personal account in a timely manner. Participating researchers must also create a personal account in Prisma and before the application deadline also approve their participation in the project. Since there has been problems with some functionality in Prisma, parts of the applications included in Prisma should be made as an uploaded PDF, instead of via text fields. It is a temporary solution until the functionality of Prisma is of sufficient quality. You can see in the call text which information should be inserted in the application in PDF format.
