Want to stay informed of gender studies at the University of Gothenburg? Perhaps participate and collaborate across borders? If so, you are very welcome to join the Centre for Gender Research Network.
Centre for Gender Research (GIG) is open to researchers at the University of Gothenburg who – regardless of subject and discipline – in their research highlights sex/gender. The aim is to offer a productive meeting place for the multi-faceted gender studies conducted on university faculties and departments. Both interdisciplinary as interdisciplinary collaboration strengthens the knowledge development and increases the ability to challenge societal ills.
GIG promotes mutual exchanges between researchers and groups of researchers, but also aims to create synergy with organizations outside the university. GIG provides ongoing seminars with overall scientific themes, organizes symposia and conferences. Recurring announced research grants, such as planning grants.
Linked to the center is a reference group of prominent international and domestic scholars, which offers qualified comments on articles and applications. GIG is located at the National Secretariat for Gender Research, Campus Linnaeus.
