The Sahlgrenska Academy’s student union, SAKS, has this year decided to give its educational price The Pedal to Peter Lingström, Professor of Cariology. He receives the award partly because he is one of the most student friendly representativesat his institution.
The whole justification is:
Peter Lingström has year after year proved to be a popular lecturer for several programs at the Sahlgrenska Academy, and he conveys in exemplary fashion the extensive knowledge he possesses, by the enthusiasm, dedication and energy with which he arouses students’ interest.
He is also one of the most student-friendly representatives of the institution, with a strong sense of justice and the common good in mind. As Chairman for the Education Committee in Odontology he has combined this with a great humility and sensitivity to the problems that the students have at his institution.
The Pedal has been awarded annually since 1984 to one or more teachers who in a commendable manner conveyed knowledge and commitment to the students. The prize consists of the honor and fame as well as a trophy and a diploma, awarded in conjunction with the annual herring lunch on Walpurgis night at the student union building Villa Medici.
