A total of SEK 90 million from the Swedish Research Council for clinical treatment research

CLINICAL RESEARCH. Half of the proposal funds for clinical treatment research goes to researchers in Gothenburg this year. Swedish Research Council awards SEK 121 million for health and medical studies

GRANTS The University of Gothenburg has received just over SEK 121 million from the Swedish Research Council’s large funding opportunity. A distinct improvement from last year, the announcement meant that Gothenburg once again obtained the second highest award of all universities that participated. The SEK 121 million earmarked for the University of Gothenburg represented 15% of the total funds awarded for health and medical research. Last year’s figures was 13%.…

Four Swedish Research Council grants for young scientists

GRANTS. Emma Börgeson, Johanna Höög, Elisabet Jerlhag Holm and Malin Johansson have each received SEK 6 million from the Swedish Research Council’s call for young scientists. Their fields are metabolic syndrome, communication between cells, the reward system of the brain and the protective mucus layer of the gut.
