NEW PAPER. Findings published in Nature Genetics by researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy describe their detailed mapping of the way that the TERT gene is activated in tumors. Given that activation of the gene is necessary if the telomeres of cancer cells are not to become shorter while dividing, it is a key to cell division in tumor growth.
Foundation for Strategic Research Awards SEK 30 Million to Study Individualized Treatment of Neuroblastoma
GRANT. In collaboration with two colleagues in Stockholm, five researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy have received a SEK 30 million grant from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research to conduct a project on new biomarkers of neuroblastoma. The researchers are looking for fresh methods of determining the type of neuroblastoma a child has in order to ensure the best possible treatment.
