Imaging Core Facility may become an important node in Europe

The Centre for Cellular Imaging, a Core Facility at the Sahlgrenska Academy, may become a future bioimaging node for the entire EU. Recently, an independent evaluation of three Swedish facilities was carried out in which the Academy’s Core Facility received the highest score and placing.

Academy researchers receive 13 million DKK from Novo Nordisk Foundation

Here is the list of researchers at the Sahlgrenska Academy with major support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation 2013. Fredrik Bäckheds research team gets the largest contribution: ten million DKK.

Karl Swedberg’s new post in London

[WEBB-TV] Karl Swedberg, a cardiologist at the Sahlgrenska Academy, has been awarded a professorship at Imperial College, London. Formerly a visiting professor there, he will as from this autumn be in London part-time.

Prince Daniel presented Fredrik Bäckhed with new research award

[WEBB-TV] On Monday evening, Fredrik Bäckhed, professor at the Institute of Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy, received the “Prince Daniel Grant” for his research on the importance of intestinal flora in the development of cardiovascular diseases.

Substance abuse research and treatment get new contact surfaces through center start

Substance abuse costs – in human suffering and in community millions. Now we have a model for how collaboration on addiction issues can be organized nationally – the interdisciplinary Center for Education and Research on Addiction, CERA.
