Two researchers at the Sahlgrenska Academy have received grants from Afa Insurance’s latest call. Anna-Carin Olin, professor of occupational and environmental medicine, receives five million SEK to map how small airways are affected by exposure to naturally formed versus manufactured nanoparticles, primarily graphene. The project runs until May 2027 and is expected to provide new knowledge about health impacts from exposure to nanoparticles in technological fields and manufacturing. Håkan Tinnerberg, associate professor of occupational and environmental hygiene, receives 1,656,623 SEK to develop a method for analyzing polyaromatic hydrocarbons on the same filters used for sampling elemental carbon.
