The Thesis of the Year award at Sahlgrenska Academy for 2023 goes to Karin Nilsson, whose thesis elucidates signaling pathways relevant to bone density and osteoporosis. At the institute level, Slavica Janeva (Biomedicine), Linnéa Lindroos (Clinical Sciences), Erik Stenkilsson Hoff (Medicine), Emma Eckernäs (Neuroscience and Physiology), Julia Olander (Dentistry), and Nina Ekman (Health and Care Sciences) are also recognized.
The award is presented by Dr. Arnt Vestby’s Research Foundation since 2009. A total of 27 theses were nominated for the award. The decision was made based on recommendations from an assessment committee appointed by the Council for Research Education (FUR).
