RESEACH COLLABORATION. MIRAI is a collaboration between 17 Swedish and Japanese universities with the aim of promoting long-term research collaborations between Sweden and Japan.
On January 1, 2024, MIRAI entered a third collaboration phase with focus on increased interdisciplinary collaborations and sectors and a more challenge-driven approach.
Apply to participate in a MIRAI Global Challenges Team
Joint societal challenges connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are in the center and around four appointed focus areas so called “Global Challenges Teams” will be created:
- Health and an Ageing Population (Part of SDG 3)
- Climate Adaption, Disaster and Risk Management and Prevention (Part of SDG 13)
- Resilient Cities and Communities – Policies, Strategies, Local Government, and Urban Planning (Part of SDG 11)
- Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage: Renewable Energy, Solar Energy Conversion, Electrification, Sustainable Processes, and Use of Resources (Part of SDG 7)
The University of Gothenburg have an open call for applications to participate in a “Global Challenges Team”. Both junior and senior researchers employed at the University of Gothenburg are welcome to apply. Deadline for applications is April 5, 2024.
