STUDENT RECRUITMENT. On Wednesday, March 20, the public is invited to visit Medicinareberget. This is the first time Sahlgrenska Academy and the Faculty of Science have invited prospective students and counselors within different types of education to our joint campus.
Study counselors from both faculties are organizing the event to provide information about our first-cycle programs, and to showcase Sahlgrenska Academy’s and the Faculty of Science’s premises, including our Clinical Training Center (KTC) and Odontologen. As well as anyone who wants to know more about the premises and the education offered at Medicinareberget, our study counselors have also invited counselors who work with various types of education at Region Västra Götaland and in Halland to provide information about the education programs. There will be a particular focus on the Occupational Therapy Program, the Audiology Program, the Speech Therapy Program, the Biomedical Analyst Program (including the supplementary education for foreign biomedical analysts), and the X-ray Nursing Program.
First open house
Malin Eskesjö Hansson is one of the study counselors at Sahlgrenska Academy who took the initiative for the open house:
“As this is the first time we’ve organized this event, we don’t know how many people will come. But we hope there will be a large turnout for both the information meeting and the open house!”
What have been the most enjoyable aspects of organizing this open house?
“Meeting curious, interested prospective students for our programs at Sahlgrenska Academy, and having the opportunity to share information about our programs, especially the ones that few people know about, such as the Audiology Program and the Occupational Therapy Program.”
During the afternoon of Wednesday, March 20, information tables will be set up alongside Natrium at Medicinarelängan. Students will provide information about their programs, opportunities for carrying out research during their studies (Students in Research, SiF), and the work of the students’ union.
“We will also show visitors the Biomedical Analyst Program’s course lab, the dental clinic at Odontologen, and KTC, which is located at Hälsovetarbacken, where the Institute of Health and Care Sciences is based.”
The open house will take place on Wednesday, March 20 at 15:00–18:00. KTC will be open at 15:00–16:00, and there will be a tour of Odontologen at 15:30–16:30.
