Welcome to a seminar on the Clinical MS Facility, a national initiative for multi-omics precision medicine. Presenters are Carina Sihlbom Wallem and Annika Thorsell from the Proteomics Core Facility.
Precision medicine represents a paradigm shift in medical research and there is a need to include multiomics to drive the development. Therefore, the Clinical MS Facility was initiated, an effort funded by the Swedish Research Council and which is now planned to be integrated with SciLifeLab.
Six state-of-the-art instruments for mass spectrometry (MS), with fast liquid chromatography systems and liquid handlers for automated sample preparation, have now been installed at the three nodes Lund, Stockholm and Gothenburg.
Carina Sihlbom Wallem and Annika Thorsell from the Proteomics Core Facility, which is one of the nodes, will explain what this investment means for the development of precision health in Sweden and what MS can be applied for in medical research.
