On February 29th, leap day 2024, it’s that time again: Rare Disease Day! This day highlights rare health conditions worldwide, including at the University of Gothenburg. During the upcoming week, from February 26th to March 1st, you can visit the photo exhibition “Project Minea” at the Biomedical Library. The photographer behind this project is Julia Staf, who aims to spread awareness to combat bullying and social exclusion. She named the project after her niece Minea, who has the rare congenital disorder known as Apert syndrome. Twelve children with twelve different diagnoses have been captured in photographs, and have also been followed up with new images six years after the initial session. Seven of these large photos are on display at the Biomedical Library throughout the week.
