Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an organization that works to protect academic freedom. Researchers who, due to threats, censorship or harassment, cannot conduct their research in their home countries can via SAR receive a temporary academic sanctuary at a university outside their own home country. The University of Gothenburg is now initiating a process to be able to receive new at-risk researchers in 2024. A hosting is based on a matching process between the receiving institution and the researcher and also means that the receiving institution appoints both an academic mentor and an administrative contact at the institution.
- Institutes that are interested in hosting an at-risk researcher relayed through SAR are requested to complete the following form: https://forms.office.com/e/fPHb5QPfiL
