The institutes may now nominate for the Göran Gustafsson Prize in Medicine or molecular biology. Aims at relatively new professors (max age of 45 years – born 1 Jan. 1979 or later). A typical award winner is a relatively new professor, leads a research group with several doctoral students and is often invited to give talks at international conferences. Note that only scientific excellence is the basis for selection and that the prize is awarded for pioneering studies and/or an important discovery, not solely for a solid list of publications.
