The advisory election for the new head of the Institute of neuroscience and physiology is now concluded. A significant majority of the voters (91.9 percent) approved the Nomination Committee’s proposal to appoint Eric Hanse as the next head. The voter turnout was 53.54 percent. Out of the 136 valid votes, there were 9 abstentions (6.6 percent). Silke Kern and Lars-Gunnar Pettersson each received one vote in the election. The election was conducted electronically from November 21 to December 3, 2023. Following negotiations under the MBL (Medbestämmandelagen, the Swedish Co-Determination Act), the formal decision to appoint the head of the Institute of neuroscience and physiology will be made by the faculty dean.
