The Vice-Chancellor’s decision is based on the results of the faculty election held in early November, where 77.9 percent of the voters (with a voter turnout of 43.13 percent) supported Magnus Simrén’s candidacy. Magnus Simrén will assume the role of Pro-Dean on January 1, 2024, and the term extends for a maximum of six years (until the end of 2029).
Magnus Simrén is a professor of medical gastroenterology at the Institute of Medicine and a senior consultant at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, and also an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, USA.
