Johan Zelano, a professor in neurology at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, has been awarded a half-million SEK research grant from the Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Foundation. The funding supports research on register-based monitoring of epilepsy medications, aiming to identify which drugs pose risks of specific side effects for different patients, using registry data. The goal is to enhance safety monitoring through registry information, not only ensuring safer treatments but also making Sweden a more attractive launch market for new epilepsy medications.
