GRSHE Seminar: Career paths from academia to industry

Marie Kalm & Fredrik Karlsson from Astra Zeneca will provide insights into the various career opportunities that lie outside of independent academic research.

Our guest speakers will share their experiences and individual journeys while describing best practices for getting a job in the industry.

Marie Kalm works as the project lead for toxicology and eCVRM. She has a background within pharmacology, neuroscience, and oncology at Sahlgrenska Academy where she has been leading a research group.

Fredrik Karlsson is the Director and team leader of bioinformaticians for oligonucleotide and CRISPR design and analysis in Discovery Sciences at AstraZeneca. He has a background in biotechnology from Chalmers and a PhD in systems biology and worked in a biotech startup before joining AstraZeneca.
