The purpose of the grant is to arrange third cycle higher education aimed at strengthening research competence within compulsory mental care and forensic psychiatry in Sweden. The initiative is based on a Government mandate.

Focus: Psychiatry research
Applicant: Organisation (Swedish higher education institution (HEI) with degree-awarding powers at third cycle higher education level). A coordinator for the graduate school at the host organisation shall be invited to be the project leader for the application by the persons responsible for the organisation’s applications.
Participating researchers: A minimum of one further HEI or region shall participate in the application (maximum 10 organisations). One contact person per participating HEI shall be invited as a participating researcher.
Grant period: 4–5 years
Grant amount: Maximum 10 million SEK per year for 4–5 years.
