Akademiliv congratulates Michael Schöll on his professorship in molecular medicine with a focus on neuroimaging! He does research on neurodegenerative diseases and specifically on what differentiates a brain that ages healthily from a brain that will develop such a disease that causes dementia. The research group develops and evaluates neuroimaging, body fluid and digital biomarkers to establish clinically relevant tools that enable early disease diagnosis and monitoring of treatments. Michael Schöll is also a member of Sweden’s Young Academy, Principal Research Fellow at University College London and responsible for a large international doctoral course. He has a seat on the academy’s Associate Profesorship committee (docenturkomittén) and on the Institute’s Research/Postgraduate Education Committee.
