Kerstin Persson Waye, professor at the Institute of Medicine, has been awarded the Sven Andersson Award. She receives the award because throughout her entire research career, with high accuracy and without compromise, she devoted herself to showing how noise that people are exposed to in their everyday lives affects health and well-being. She has shown that the nature of the sound, and not just the sound level, is important for the effects of exposure. The Sven Andersson Award recognizes commendable contributions to creating healthy indoor environments. The Sven Andersson Awardis an honorary award, and is awarded biannually by the Center for Healthy Indoor Environments at Lund University.
