The consultative assembly voted for Carina Mallard as new Pro-Vice-Chancellor

23 May, 2023

UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor candidate Carina Mallard received a majority of the consultative assembly votes at today’s meeting in Vasaparken. The result of the vote will now be submitted to the University Board for the final decision on who will be the next Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Gothenburg.

The consultative assembly has today interviewed the candidates Carina Mallard and Max Petzold one by one for an hour each.

After deliberation, the assembly took a vote. 58 of the 70 consultative assembly members participated in this.

The result of the vote showed that Carina Mallard received 39 votes and that Max Petzold received 19 votes. None of the representatives casted a blank vote.

The consultative assembly’s role is to be advisory to the Board. The assembly’s position is now communicated to the Board, which on 14 June will take the formal decision on who will be the next Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

The next Pro-Vice-Chancellor takes office on 1 July 2023, at the same time as the new Vice-Chancellor Malin Broberg.
