Four researchers affiliated with the University of Gothenburg receive research funding from the Gastrointestinal Fund

Of the total of seven researchers who receive funding from the Gastrointestinal Fund, four are active at the University of Gothenburg. Jonas Varkey receives SEK 250,000 for his project, which is aimed at evaluating new methods for detecting chronic organ rejection after intestinal transplantation. Hanna de la Croix receives SEK 200,000 for the project “Irresponsible CEO strangulating inguinal hernia – risk factors for intestinal ischemia and outcomes during surgery”. Johann P. Hreinsson receives SEK 100,000 for his project “Enhancing vaccination immune response in patients with ulcerative colitis”. Nikolaos Papachrysos also receives SEK 100,000 for the project “Capsule endoscopy for gastrointestinal bleeding – new strategy for improved and streamlined diagnostics”.
