Akademiliv congratulates Lars Ny on the professorship! His research mainly focuses on the development of new diagnostics and treatment for malignant melanoma. Within diagnostics, he evaluates new applications for molecular analyzes for the detection of disease recurrence and treatment monitoring. In treatment, his research group works experimentally and in clinical trials to develop new types of cell therapy, also for liver and brain metastasis of melanoma starting from both skin and eyes. The treatment involves tumor-infiltrating T cells (TILs) and T cells that have undergone genetic modification (CAR-T).
Lars Ny is deputy head at the Institute of Clinical Sciences and subject representative in oncology. His teaching includes the medical program in oncology.
