After discussions in the collaboration group for MedTech West, it is now clear that the platform will be phased out. Instead, its operations is transferred into other forms of collaboration, including the medical technology collaboration lab Sahlbec Lab, which will play an important role for research in life science. The lab welcomes researchers from academia, healthcare and industry. Work is underway to install magnetoencephalography (MEG) and microwaves. MedTech West was started in 2009 as a medical technology platform in Western Sweden by five parties: Chalmers University of Technology, the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, the University of Borås, the Sahlgrenska University Hospital and the Västra Götaland region.
