The faculty is currently evaluating the compiled documentation from the previous phase, that describes the buildings’ design and functions, together with the lease proposal that was submitted in December.
Sahlgrenska Academy’s participation in the Sahlgrenska Life project has for several years been characterized by a desire to develop the faculty’s premises for education, research and collaboration to meet the needs of the future. In recent years, many employees have invested a lot of time designing the intended premises together with the architects. Both to cater for the needs of the activities that will be conducted there upon moving in and with built-in flexibility for changing needs. This collaboration within the Sahlgrenska Life-project has resulted in premises fit for purpose with good solutions.
The project was started at a time when no one could predict the past year’s development in our world, with war, inflation, high interest rates and price increases. These uncertainty factors therefore need to be weighed into the evaluation. Careful analyzes are now being made of the local cost forecast and how it would affect the faculty’s finances as a whole over time.
According to the current schedule, the issue of lease agreements will be taken up for decision by May this year at the latest.
