CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT. After the move-in into Natrium in August, the Faculty of Science increases its presence in Medicinarelängan, and the number of students grow. Established since years already, the Campus Council will continue to be an important forum for joint development of the campus environment.
When the Campus Council meets, the development of study facilities is a recurring item on the meeting agenda, but equally important are questions about the outdoor environment and the service offered on Medicinareberget.
Up for discussion are lunch restaurants, microwave ovens to heat food in, indoor and outdoor signage, solutions for cyclists and charging points for electric cars. To make Medicinareberget a good place for studies and work, all aspects need to work.
Broad representation important for holistic view
The Campus Council is a forum for the development of the entire Campus Medicinareberget. In the council, Sahlgrenska Academy and the Faculty of Science gather around common issues that affect their operations on Medicinareberget.
For students at Campus Medicinareberget, there are no clear boundaries between the faculties, and the Campus Council therefore strives for a holistic approach in the discussions. It is also made possible by the broad representation. Those participating are the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Sahlgrenska Academy’s Vice Dean responsible for premises and infrastructure, Campus Service, The Biomedical Library, Akademiska Hus, GU Fastighet, Göta Student Union’s section for natural sciences and SAKS. Meetings take place a couple of times per semester and the chairmanship alternates between faculties.
