Nominate candidates for the Bjarne Ahlström Memorial Fund 2023 prize in the area “Clinical neurology – especially inflammatory mechanisms that affect central or peripheral nervous system function”.
Eligibility
Eligible for nomination is a person who has defended his thesis after 1 January 2014 and conducts successful research (PI for grants) with international impact in the subject area (good publications).
In addition to contact details, the complete complete nomination form contains the following:
- the five most important scientific publications with the nominee as the author, of which at least two should be with the nominee as main author
- ongoing grants with nominated as PI (year granted, number of years, amount total)
- the focus of the research (2-3 sentences)
- motivation for nomination (maximum 150 words)
In addition to the completed form, the nomination must also contain the CV (two A4 pages) of the nominee.
Nominations (nomination form + CV) are submitted to the Research Support Office no later than Wednesday 15 March 2023, by e-mail to applications@sahlgrenska.gu.se
Selection criteria
research excellence (international impact, clinical relevance in the issue with defined patient group in view, regardless of whether the research takes place within basic mechanisms, prevention or clinical intervention).

Sahlgrenska Academy then nominates up to four researchers to the Bjarne Ahlström Memorial Fund. The foundation then invites the best among the nominees to submit a complete dossier to the foundation’s scientific committee. The prize will be awarded in autumn 2023.
