As a government authority, the University of Gothenburg has received a government mission to take energy-saving measures. Employees have been asked to save electricity, and the university’s campus managers have, in dialogue with deans and heads, discussed what measures are possible to take, for example led lighting or no lighting before Christmas and removed electric radiators. Another example is the optimization of the ventilation in Akademiska Hus’ premises, which reduced electricity consumption by 25,000 kWh a month, equivalent to the consumption of a normal-sized villa for a year.
