EDUCATION. The new AI technology can produce increasingly advanced texts. It has changed the game plan for the university’s teachers, especially when it comes to examinations. The PIL unit has produced two films (in Swedish) about the new technology and how teachers can relate to it. A webinar on the same theme will also be held on January 24 (in Swedish).
In the first video, the AI service ChatGPT, which was opened in early December, is presented. What can the service do and how does it affect us in higher education?
In the second film, some thoughts about how we can handle the new situation are presented. Alternative forms of examination such as classroom exams and oral examinations are discussed, as well as the possibilities of working with context and progression.
The films were created by Mattias von Feilitzen at the PIL unit and the Department of Applied IT.

The PIL unit also invites to a webinar on AI-generated texts and ChatGPT. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, January 24 at 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. During the webinar, Mattias von Feilitzen will show the service and how it works, as well as raise questions about how examinations are affected and how you, as a teacher, can handle this. The webinar is open to everyone at GU.
