Two researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy, Kristina Elfving and Kristina Jakobsson, have received VR funding in development research. Kristina Elfving receives SEK 4,770,000 for her project, which deals with probiotic treatment compared to placebo for children with low birth weight. The study will be conducted as a randomized intervention study to study the effect on malnutrition and neonatal mortality. Kristina Jakobsson receives SEK 4,497,000 for a project on the health impact of migrant workers who work in hot weather. The study is being conducted in Nepal with a focus on kidney disease. A total of six researchers at the University of Gothenburg received funding in the call.
