Gunnar C Hansson, Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology, receives 150,000 euros (corresponding to just over 1.5 million SEK) from the European Research Council ERC within the Proof of Concept program. The grant can be given to researchers who previously received funding from ERC and provides the opportunity to further develop research results. Gunnar C Hansson has identified mechanisms that affect the mobility of mucus in the airways, which can hopefully be developed into a new drug against the lung disease COPD.
