In a country where rape has been used as a weapon in decades-long conflicts, Denis Mukwege and his hospital have been the salvation of thousands of women. ‘Women’s strength’ is a story about struggle and suffering – but also about hope and resilience. Denis Mukwege received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018, and in 2019 was appointed an honorary doctorate at the Sahlgrenska Academy.
