A workplace accident occurred Monday morning in an electric power room in Medicinarelängan. One person was taken to hospital by ambulance, but was conscious at the time. Another three people with minor injuries have sought healthcare themselves.
The accident is related to the construction of Natrium and occurred in connection with a short circuit in a switchgear. In addition to the injured people, who work for one of Skanska’s subcontractors, the incident also caused smoke and power outages in several buildings on Medicinareberget.
Currently, (Monday 9 May, at 17.00) problems remain in two classrooms; Valdemar Sjölander and Ragnar Sandberg. Campus service has rescheduled the activities in these to other lecture halls and has contacted the teachers concerned.
The incident is handled as a workplace accident and the cause must is now to be investigated.
