The Eric K. Fernström Foundation announces that this year it will pause its awards, the Nordic Prize and the prize for Young, especially promising researchers at Swedish universities. The foundation’s statutes have clear definitions of prize amounts, and in the aftermath of the pandemic, the foundation has found that, in accordance with the statutes, it is unfortunately not possible to award all prizes this year. A message from The Eric K. Fernström Foundation is that it looks forward to celebrating outstanding medical researchers in 2023! The age for the Minor Fernström Prize will then be raised by one year, so that this group of researchers also may have the opportunity.
