Akademiliv congratulates Bengt Nellgård on his professorship in anaesthesiology and intensive care! He researches seriously ill patients in need of surgery and intensive care, and evaluates biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and brain ischemia in iva patients with long follow-up. As part of a major research collaboration during the pandemic, he followed these iva patients for six months, with the goal of preventing lung damage, and physical and cognitive dysfunction after long-term iva treatments. Bengt Nellgård is very involved in the new medical education, and also a module instructor. He is Deputy Head of the undergraduate program at the Institute of Clinical Sciences.
